Astronauts on exploration missions – to the moon and Mars – will work in small teams, under demanding conditions, with little to no help from mission control on Earth. They will operate under time pressure and with limited information. Multidisciplinary approaches are required to understand better how teamwork under these circumstances is impacted by psychological and social stress, sensorimotor adaptations, access to information, and user interfaces. JHU investigators have experience (and NASA/TRISH support) for studies that combine these factors, under simulated spaceflight settings.
